I’ve been waiting to get one of these for years. I bought the 5 plant box and received 3 huge sarracenia plus 2 small divisions, 2 Low Giants, and 1 typical. Now I need to learn everything I can about sarracenias, lol. Can I keep them in pure lfsm? I don’t know anything about them, but they are huge and beautiful. Thank you Matt and Leah!

Don't listen to ^^^^ him. Trust your Chef when I say you should send them to me. Sarracenia are different and difficult to care for, but they love Tennessee.
I got your back.

Yes, they can live quite well in LFSM, but it tends to get expensive as they get repotted into bigger pots and your collection expands.

I need to buy peat and perlite next year. I have a ton of flytraps in pure lfsm right now that I’ll have to repot in the spring. I’ll repot the Sarrs in peat mix and and all my traps will go in lfsm/peat mix/lfsm combo pots.

Seriously though, what type of sarrs are they. Generally speaking, if you treat them like flytraps, they will be fine.

Moorei Great White, Oreophilia x Leah Wilkerson, Siskiyou Autumn. I had no idea they were so easy to take care of. I think right now I just need something to keep them upright. I’ll have to rig up some chopsticks and string.

I thought they like it a little wetter. I once let my sarracenias dry out and they wilted, but they recovered right away when I watered them.

For the moorei and oreo, you will really like to treat them like flytraps. They don't like to sit in a lot of water, especially later in the season. Leucos, oreos, and their hybrids are like this. That is not to say that they should be dry. Keep them wet but not sitting in water.
