I wish I could post a video to show you that there is a pile of bugs, about an inch deep, climbing over each other trying to escape. The plant is catching so many, so fast, that they'll likely crush each other before they die as they normally might in a pitcher.

And there are dozens of other pitchers with the same issue

I hear some people have to use cotton balls to prevent them from getting overfed...

I want them to decimate the bug population, then I will be King of the Neighborhood! All the men will envy me, and strive to have as immaculate of a yard as me. The mommies will love me, and shower me with baked goods. The neighborhood children will want to cut my grass and pull the weeds, but I'll shake my fist and yell "Get off my lawn!".
It will be tough, living high on that pedestal, but I'll manage.

Just be sure the pedestal has a toilet. Trust me, been there.

@ChefDean, that's a LOT of bugs!!!! What are they?

And, yep...you may just be a "certifiable" King of the Neighborhood! They may even give you your own special throne room, too!

Perhaps ask them to cut your lawn...with scissors. An amazing punishment.

Most are a type of small carpenter bee, others are small wasps, flies, and beetles.
I feel a little bad about the bees because they do pollinate, but they can also cause damage.
So, preventing damage :D, but making more work for other pollinators :( .

It's really a "plant-eat-bug-world out there"!!!

I've got mixed feelings about carpenter bees...you're right, they're pollinators but they also do a lot of damage. For instance....my front door! :x Even lots of wasp species are good pollinators. But, bugs gonna do what bugs gonna do...they think they can just have there way with plants...then one day they run into a pitcher plant and it ain't fun and games no more for them. Life's a b.... ...somtimes.
