Are all VFT considered Dionaea muscipula ? or are ones labeled like Dionaea 'Colorado Giant' not supposed to have the muscipula species name ?

All Dionaea are the same species, so, even if the muscipula is left off, it's still officially Dionaea muscipula "Colorado Giant" or "Dente" or "Alien" or whatever the name of the cultivar is.

I think people do that simply because it's common practice, as cultivars tend to be hybrids. With Dionaea, you can write the names with or without the species name, it doesn't matter.
