Hi guys,
I'm a relatively new CP grower, I have a Venus Fly Trap that I've had for about 16 months now and a Nepenthes X Ventrata (Monkey Cup) that I have only had for around 4 months. They are both doing good, as I regularly purchase fertilisers and other supplements for my plants online, as well browse the net looking for tips and advice.

I'm getting a little more confident and adventurous now and want to try growing some different types of CP's.

So my question is this...
How easy is it to grow from seeds, rather than buying a plant that is already growing? Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated as I'm keen to branch out and see what else I can add to my small collection.

With this in mind, if anyone on this forum is selling seeds, please give me a shout as I'm interested in buying.

Growing CP from seed is a mixed bag.
Most temperate species need cold treatment to germinate best.
Tropical and sub-tropical types are scatter and sprout.
Drosera species like capensis and spatulata are great for newer growers.

There is a seed bank for members of this forum.
Read the instructions for non-US members.
Request seed , contact ChefDean and you're all set.
The seed bank is run on the pay it forward philosophy.
There is a link to the seed bank in my signature

Good growing,
Mike

Thanks Mike, that's some great advice. This is a new hobby for me and I find it a great way to calm my ADHD down, by having something to focus on that really interests me. Eventually, I'd love to move onto creating new hybrid species but I need to learn how to walk before I can run. I think I've found the perfect site to learn from guys and a great community to be able to grow my hobby with.

Thanks again,

Brian :D
