My first Nepenthes sanguinea is on the way. Hoping it will help alleviate the terrible japanese beetles destroying my rose bushes. Current plan is to have it full sun/partial shade on a screened in porch with a medium of 1:1:1 lfsm, perlite, and peat moss. Will move to windowsill in fall. Any recommendations and/or anecdotes?

I have the common orange sanguinea in a hanging pot, its in full sun till around 11am then shaded rest of day, its is growing like a weed in 50/50 moss/perlite. in the winter i keep it in a south facing window with lots of direct sunlight. 3 basal shoots so far this year.

It pitchers fill with ants when outside

I never seen that before. So many ants. I wish mines would eat more ants.
