Is there such a thing as too much light? My sundew seedlings are very red, some even purple in color. They are, however, very small. Some of my spatulata seedlings are still very tiny, less than half a cm, and they are 7 months old! I have only one large spatulata, and I fed that one a lot.

You might want to tell us what lighting the plants are getting, what light brand, photoperiod, etc.

We both have the same plants and have been growing them for the same amount of time, but mine are bigger and green. I'm simply using a fluorescent cabinet light.

One foot away.

Could the spectrum of the light be affecting the growth in any way?

I’ve have some aliciae seedlings about half a foot under my grow lights. (These are supposed to be the easiest sundews to grow.) And they are staying the same size. They’re hardly growing. My intermedia seedlings are a little to the side of my lights and are growing very well. I am asking again, is there such a thing as too much lights for sundew seedlings?

Note: All my seedlings are bagged so low humidity likely isn’t the cause.

So you fed one (with success) but not the others... but you suspect the light is the problem?

Why not try feeding those poor hungry little guys?

I'll try that. Although, I already tried to fertilize my aliciae seedlings, but it seemed to have no affect on them.

Perhaps when you fertilized your seedlings you got it into the soil?

I don't think that is the cause. If it were only the fertilized ones that were growing slow, then I would consider that.

Strange thing, once I upgrade my lights to the same ones you have my seedlings stoped growing bigger.
