Jello? Mmm... The stuff to make the soil stuff? That jelly stuff the plant lives on?

It raises the ph a little, jellos are more towards the alkaline side.

Not really. Maybe make the pH slightly more acidic (0.1 or so) to compensate.

Gage,

That You will have to experiment with and tell Us!

If You want to add to each jar individually before autoclaving it, I would make a dry run batch with just sugar, water to save on supplies; then adjust PH, then just add say a level smidgen to 25ml in a baby food jar, boil in microwave; (to simulate pressure cooking) cool and see how it sets up at room temp. If it collapses when You tip it, or too liquid, try a slight heaping smidgen, etc. until You have it, I guess.

That's kinda what I did.

Good luck!

Gary

BAP is a plant growth regulator of the cytokinin family also known as 6-BENZYLAMINOPURINE (BA):

So does Gelcarin, ( http://www.phytotechlab.com/Detail.aspx?ID=200 ) I've come to find out. Raises the PH by about
.6 or .7 in the batches I've done.

Oh, thanks for letting us know that Gary! I haven't tested pH after adding Gelcarin, so it's good to know.

Matt,

How are Your cultures doing on the Gelcarin at 7 Grams/Liter so far?

Hey Gary,
They appear to be doing about the same as the agar. I can't really tell a difference. I like how the media is clearer, but honestly I can't really tell much of any difference in agar vs gelcarin. I'm using it at the same concentration as agar. I don't measure how many grams per liter, but rather dispense it individually into each baby food jar. I use one level (or heaping) "pinch" spoon per 35 to 40ml of media. It seems to solidify about the same as agar, maybe a bit firmer, but definitely usable still.

Maybe in another 2 to 3 weeks I can really report the difference. Right now the cultures are just hitting their stride and rapidly growing. In another 3 weeks, they will have nearly filled the jars, or at least should have.

Very nice Matt since it wasnt that long since you did start from what I can recall. I just hope that I can get some luck
to after I have trained some on seeds. Btw Iff I manage to invitro for example Tiger teeth or such when I am done multiplaying
that clone. Its then possible to have one in a jarr for a long time for later use and then I could use that one for explant since its
already clean ?
