Ohh so that’s why they can’t get submerged and also they jump while they float. I didn’t want to harm them but there wasn’t another way...

Here are my temperate plants, including my VFT's, during dormancy.

Update: It didn’t work or some eggs hatched because there are webs again. What should I do? Should I submerge it again for longer?

Update: I thought that some mites survived because there were a lot of dead foliage and air propably got trapped there. I removed as many dead leaves as possible and I discovered that there are probably 8 plants in the pot. When I bought it there were only 3. While I was cleaning I pulled some leaves that did want to let go but they had a tiny bit of white rhizome. Will the plants be ok? Also can I use the rhizome pieces to propagate new plants or is it too late?

When I submerge plants for pest control, I leave them under water for 7-14 days.
Pot goes in a 1 or 2 gallon ziploc bag, air gets mostly squeezed out, and I give the baggie a little shake every day to eliminate tiny air bubbles that might form.
Just my 02¢ worth.

When I had a spider mite problem on one of my Capes I left it submerged for four days. It took about a month for the plant to recover but the mites are definitely gone.

Because my plants are dormant, I will submerge them for 5-6 days in a ziplock bag and move it from time to time as Shadowtski said. I will keep updating.

Update: The ziplock bag was hard to use so I did the same thing as the first time. But now I will move it one or 2 times a day so air doesn’t get trapped. This will continue for the next 6 days.

Update: Now my other plants look suspicious. Also I found another rove beetle drowning in the water and I caught it. While I was trying to take pictures it tried to fly then I panicked and I crushed it with a transparent square thing. I was right in another post about another rove beetle I found in my flytrap pot. This one doesn’t have orange elytra but they are an almost black color. All the other parts are black. I took a picture at the moment it opened it’s elytra. It also rained at the night too.

Update: The submerging ended and here are the results. The plants look ok but the leaves have some spots that look like they became translucent. Also there is some type of moss growing on the bottom holes. What should I do next? Should I wait for some days and then submerge it again to kill any eggs that hatched?

Update: The leaves are normal again and I don’t see any spider mites or webs. What should I do next?

Well, I guess now comes the hard parts...let the soil dry some (don't let it dry out completely, though) and put it somewhere in a cool and dim spot! Looking at your plant, though, it doesn't look very dormant, but I'm a newbie and not real sure how "ugly" and ragged-looking dormant plants look. Yours look pretty doggone good for it to be dormant. :?:

Yes my plant looks too good for a dormant plant. Fortunately it is dormant but barely. This is because this one winter is too warm that in the next few days it will get as high as 19°C. But this happened only this winter, it usually gets around 9°C at day and 0°C at night. This winter is so warm that some plants flowers now instead of April. I hope this won’t happen for the next years.

Update: I don’t see any mites or webs so it probably worked. But what happens if there are some eggs that survived and now are hatching? Also the media is a bit dry now. Should I submerge it again for the final time, or should I do the usual things?
