The base of the pitcher plant has new growth

Was wondering if this is normal as the base, under the moss, has a new growth and am not sure what it is.

Any thoughts?

That is normal. It is called, creatively enough, a basal. As it grows you can separate it from the main plant and have a new baby to fuss over.
