That being said, you may be able to experiment with mulch to allow them to survive brief periods of cold.Dang it sucks being in zone 6b because it gets too cold for them in the middle of winter so I have to use fridge dormancy so I am limited to how much flytraps I can

Of you have a space that stays in the 50s, you can grow them with a growlight with a reduced photoperiod. If you have a space that stays between 35 and 50, you can winter them there without any light.

Is it okay to just put the plant in the pot inside a zip lock bag inside a fridge for fridge dormancyDragonslayer126 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 8:09 pm Dang it sucks being in zone 6b because it gets too cold for them in the middle of winter so I have to use fridge dormancy so I am limited to how much flytraps I canIt is important to remember that dormancy does not require very cold temperatures. Maybe you could play around with putting half in fridge dormancy and skipping dormancy with the other half. Then switch them the next year. I would also keep a supply of plants going from leaf pullings, should any dormancy experiments go south.
