Does anyone else's nep secrete a sticky syrupy substance on the peristome? It makes the peristome shiny and look glazed. My plant is a ventrata.

Its also a sign of a very happy and heathy plant.

Ants will go CRAZY for that stuff, I'm fairly sure my Sanguinea ate an entire colony after they found a drop on the ground.

Yep, it's one of the plant's ways of attracting prey. Nearly all terrestrial CPs secrete nectar. Poor bugs! They don't stand a chance!
