So when are leaf cuttings ready to be transplanted into soil? Do you rip em of from leaf and stick em in soil?

Everyone has their own favorite technique.
FWIW, here's mine.
I usually have the leaves floating in water to generate the strikes.
After I see the first bud, I wait about one month for a few leaves to develop.
Now make a slurry of very wet peatmoss, 1 part peatmoss to 1 or 1 1/2 parts water.
Put your leaf cutting into this mucky mess so only the new leaves are above the surface.
Bag or dome it for a month, then gradually let the media start to dry out.

Just my 2¢ worth,
Mike
