hello, i purchased my sundew a few weeks back and ive been noticing that its been growing 2 flower stalks. does this mean there 2 plants in the pot?? :S (idk what species it is)

My D. tokaiensis currently has two stalks. Perfectly normal!

But yes, it does look like the stalks are coming from two different plants from this picture, but I can't really tell since we can't see the rosette.

if it is several sundews in one pot does that affect the plant growth?? cuz i really have no idea how i could separate them :S

i would seperate them however, when they are bunched together, they all work as a team to catch bugs :)

no point dividing them. in the wild they grow clumped
i have drosera at the moment with 2 stalks coming off 1 plant but it has weakened the plant 'cause the second stalk is smaller and the leafs are shrinking
but hey im doubling the seeds

Where did you get that info? I've seen inexperienced people who have a clump of 7 plants or more and that person thinks that there's actually 7 stalks coming from 1 plant when there's actually 1 stalk coming from each plant in the clump. Ive never heard of a vft that can make 7 stalks at once! Other than a vft making a fused stalk of more than 15 stalks.

I've seen single Flytraps making several flower in one go. Not fused either.
