I got myself 1 vft yesterday and I was wondering if I could use this bottled water. The brand is Eastern Highlands and it's labeled as still spring water with a tds of 36. Is this good for my new plant?

36 isn't terrible, I believe the upper limit is around 50. It should be fine for now, but I would caution continuous use as you have no way of knowing what minerals are actually in there. If using water bottles I recommend Aquafina, its fairly cheap and usually has a tds around 0-10. Or you can pick up the gallon jugs of distilled water from your local grocery store for even cheaper.

Thanks man. I think I'm going to test the water to make sure of it's labelling and then go to a water shop to get water of a lower tds.

No prob, And just a heads up in my previous post I meant to say Aquafina, not Dasani. I have edited it to be correct.

We're finding out that TDS matters less than what those dissolved solids are. My tap water is 100 to 110 ppm TDS, and I water most of my plants straight from the hose. Check you local municipalities water quality report to see what your water has.
Mine tests for trace metals and chemical runoff, but only finds a few metals measured in ppb (parts per billion). For other stuff that we know are not good, I have .19 ppm copper, 8 ppm sodium, 2 ppm nitrates, and no calcium.

This is the water I am currently using. The nursery where I bought the vft from says they caught rainwater and used that. But is this what for now okay because distilled water in my area is a bit pricey.

That looks good. mg/L translates directly to ppm, so it seems to be that it will work.
