Does sphagnum moss have stems, or are they the roots of other plants. Every single strand of sphagnum moss I have, has either a root or stem going through it. Is this how they're supposed to be?

Thats the way they are. It's kinda like a string. That's a sign it's high quality sphagnum, usually.

No roots on sphagnum moss. Each plant is one long stalk, alive at the top and dead at the bottom.

Well this moss is for potting, so I don't think it's be alive. I was just trying to find out if I needed to pull every single piece of stem out. I thought it was trash.

You might want to check out the FTS youtube channel, some good videos on potting plants into LFSM there.

He was trying to tell you how the sphagnum moss plant itself grows.

Oh, ok.

I just didn't know if he knew what kind of moss I was talking about. I was just making sure that the stems were part of the moss.
