Members of this particular family of "plants" go great served over pasta in a Cacciatore made with braised rabbit. While other members of this "plants" kingdom will kill you.

I should have probably said this before I began, but the winner will receive a Sarr seedling of my choice.

Well,I have absolutely NO idea nor the brains to solve this question lol.
But here are the clues we've got so far:
1. It is a fungi.
2. It is carnivorous.
EDIT:
3. It is edible.

I think I got it.it is obviously fungi, but a nematophagous fungus, made for trapping nematodes, which I presume are the "parasites" you are talking about.

Re read the clues.
You're correct that it is a fungi, but the carnivory was initially a defense against parasites, a way to kill them to avoid infestation. However, they evolved the carnivory to now target prey to gain nitrogen.

Correct! They're great sauteed in butter, garlic, and a touch of vinegar too.
PM your address and I'll pick out a Sarr to send you.

P.S. Just for clarification: According to the original thread, a prize for a correct answer is not required. It is up to the person giving the clues to offer a prize or not, and to clarify who's paying postage if so. This was done to increase participation, as many people didn't want to play due to not feeling they had anything to offer.
Don't hold back just because you don't think you can offer a prize, it's not required. It is intended to be fun, so enjoy it!

Ok,this will be my next one:
1. They have a substance called "bromelain" inside of the leaves. The leaves collect water, and when a fly goes inside they chew on the leaf to escape the water, thus releasing bromalain into the water and digesting the bug.
2. They were discovered in 1493.
Hope you guys can figure this one out!

Is it the pineapple plant (Ananas comosus)? Bromelain comes from this plant and they were discovered by europeans in 1493.

That is correct! For anyone thinking about CPs,from now on include the delicious pineapple fruit!
Now I don't have much to give...Would you like for me to host a giveaway on a specified date,or would you like something personally when I get ahold of something I don't really need?
