I put the pot in a East facing window sill and have a lamp at the ready for when they germinate. I plan on growing them through the winter. Wish me luck!ImageImage

Good luck.

Just a tip in the future, try to smooth the surface of the soil as much as possible. I did it and it helps a lot with keeping the seeds from growing in an awkward position. I also find it cleaner and more manageable.

First seedling to emerge! Germination was successful!

UPDATE: More seeds have germinated and are slowly but surely growing their cotyledons. I'm planning on getting some bloodworms from Walmart in a few weeks to accelerate their growth.

Good luck! Growing anything from a tiny seed seems to be a very rewarding experience in the end. Are all the seeds collected from a variety of different cultivars?

I know I posted about this in the other forum, but I just wanted to share it here too as this thread has decidedly become a sort of log of my seed grown flytraps. One of my ten seedlings has quite the unique oddball appearance. Only time will tell if it has what it takes to survive.

My other 9 seedlings look to be somewhat more on the normal end of the scale in appearance.

I recounted my seedlings and now have 12! Saw the first carnivorous leaf a few days ago on a particularly fast growing seedling. I thought it was the one I dubbed "oddball" but it turned out to be the one next to it. It's easy to get them mixed up at this early stage.

If you grow them properly they will. Just be sure they're from a reliable seller otherwise you'll be getting bogus seed.

Thanks artchic they are from the leading carnivorous plant nursery here in the UK just my first time growing from seed. Are yours still alive?
