I tried looking up plant divisions and seemed to only find how to manually divide or propagate or academic information on naming conventions of plant species, family, divisions, etc.

so... how exactly did my plant get a 2nd rootball? did it..............walk over an inch and say "i live here now"

i bought 1 plant from a forum member. and i realized about a year or so later, that some of the leaves were coming from a second "center"

edit/ sorry if i misused vocabulary that have a legitimate definition in the hobby. such as "clone" may not be the correct word for what happedn to my plant.

Haha kind of. It begins by growing off the mother plant. As it matures, it develops its own root system and gradually divides. Its easier to see on other types of plants. Here are some of mine that were going crazy. Perhaps too much fertilizer lol. The Regia I actually need to divide soon to get it more light but the mother wasn't doing well for a bit and recently started to gain vigor again so im letting it be for a while. Pinguicula do it in a couple different ways. My pirouette split its growth point while the ehlersiae cranked a bunch of different divisions. It was wild how many offshoots that tiny plant had around its base.

It's called an offshoot; flytraps will do this when they're healthy and happy. A new plant sprouts from the side of its parent, is fully independent by the time it's 1.5 inches / 4 centimeters tall. It's a clone of the parent.
