I can't wait for it to get really big. It's my first and only ping. It has been growing fairly quickly for me.

Oh my goodness. Where do I start?! I actually don't have all the photos compiled in one place anymore, so I'll throw a couple of summer ones in.

I'll keep you in mind when it outgrows its pot I'll do some leaf pulls. Which if it keeps growing at the rate it is won't be too long.

Thank you. What're your grow conditions?

It's just basic house temps etc. 68-72F temp. RH is around 60-70%. It's in equal parts peat/perlite/sand. Sits in a water tray with an inch or so of water. It is about 8 inches under 2 dual bulb T8 6500K lights. Here is what it looked like 1 month ago when I got it. Lots of new growth.

Pt. 1: The Cold-Temperates

Cold Temperates are my all-time favorite group of Pings, and since I happened to be on my way to coffee, I took some pics of them to share. They currently are not much right now, but come spring, you'll surely see plenty of pics of these in all their glory.

If the name tag is not clear enough to read the species name, or not shown, the species name will be listed above the corresponding picture.

P. chilensis, one of the two South American homophyllous cold-temperates these ones are currently inside, since I started them from seed later in the growing season.

P. chilensis that have been outdoors since November. These guys have gone through multiple freezes and have been covered in freezing rain and snow. Some leaves partially died during a few dry freezes.

The rest are your typical hibernacula-forming species:

P. corsica f. pallidula, one of them that was late to fall asleep has a carnivorous leaf that has been covered in ice, snow, and assaulted by dry freezing winds, and yet it persists.

Thanks. :-) Yes, that's a P. 'Weser' (cross between P. ehlersiae and P. moranensis). I always thought it displayed really lovely colours, considering I don't use artificial lighting. It's amazing what some vibrant summer sunshine can do!

Good grief though, the rest of these plants are so stunning!!
