I know that you can divide sarr rhizomes but is it possible to start plants from root cuttings? My flavas are in 11 inch deep pots and I have roots growing out the bottom. Being one to never throw things away, I was wondering if I could root them.

I asked this same question earlier this year and was told no.
I received a division that came with a couple of broken roots. I stuck them in the moss anyway, but nothing happened.

after it goes dormant break off the smallest growth point and feed it well the following growing season, it can be blooming size the next spring.
