Okei so I know your not supposed to trim purps.... At least thats what I've heard...BUT my sarracenia purpurea venosa started to dry up from the sides of the pitchers during dormancy.... I know its not dying, I thought thats normal? So I trimmed off the old leaves! With spring sloooowly approaching, I'm wondering....have I made a mistake in cutting all the old pitchers off?

Not at all.

I cut off all the pitchers of my purp and it didn't phase it one bit.

A lot of guys completely cut down all their pitchers on all their Sarr's every spring. Its something I think I will do again in the spring with both my Sar purp and Judith Hindle.

Great! Ok! Thats a reliefImage Are they a little slow to come out of dormancy? At least compared to venus flytraps or so?

My purp took twice as long to come back than my VFT's.
