I live near the Savannah river near Augusta GA.....would it be a good source of water for VFT?

River water has too many minerals in it to use on flytraps. Distilled, reverse osmosis, or rain water only (unless your tap water happens to be under 50 ppm).

You can buy a TDS meter for $10 - $20.
Measure your river water for Total Dissolved Solids. ( TDS )
If the TDS is less than 50, it is OK to use for CP.
The lower, the better.
Distilled water is 0.
The water from my dehumidifier is 5 - 10.
