Ps3isawesome Photo Thread UPDATED (07/03/2016)

I have an urge to share and want to consolidate this type of posts.

I'm very happy with my set up so I've decided to stick to this for a while or at least until Summer comes.

I am now able to drop the night time temperature in the HL terrarium down to 54 from 77 with an average of 67.

The outdoor set up has worked really well too.

Future updates to come.

Really nice setup and nice plants! You even sacrifice an ipad box to raise the level of your pot hehe

I love your setup. It looks amazing.the only problem is that you Adrian slack x Judith hindle is not an Elaine wang. It is a plant that came out if the same cross as Elaine but they are not the same plant.

Your setup is amazing. What is your heli in that indoor setup?

I see, so for future reference how should I label this plant?

If the plant was a division from Elaine Wang, can it be then labeled as Elaine Wang.

I'm new and would appreciate knowing more about what you said since I'm a bit confused. Thanks!!

I'm super happy with the set up as well. The heli is a heterodoxa.

I would just label it S. 'Adrian slack' x 'Judith hindle' MW and when mike names it, you could put in parentheses (sibling of Elaine wang)

You are correct. If it was a division or leaf pulling, it would be s. "Elaine wang" until it got named. Then it would be in single quotes.

If it was from Elaine wang self pollinated, it would be labeled as S. "Elaine wang" f1.

I hope this helped. Also where did you get the heli from?

That defiantly helped. That distinction is really important as well. I'll go change my growlist.

The heli is bought from California Carnivorous. I picked it up to avoid shipping shock.

Just wanted to update on some of my plants. Hope everyone enjoy. This is prob less than 1/2 of my collection. I got tired of taking pictures........ ^_^

Some of this plants were just ravaged by a recent California rain, so there's still recovering.

King Henry - The traps near the soil is super cute
Image

S. Judith Hindle = my very first Sarracenia
Image

S. Adrian Slack x Judith Hindle - Luckily it produced one trap and a new division at the bottom.
Image

S.Catesbaie Sunrise x Flava var. regulii - the name could be wrong because I won this from my first giveaway. This plant got invaded by ants and the S. won
Image

Sarracenia mysterious random seedlings
Image

D. Venusta - From a giveaway, glad it's giving me tons of seeds and new growth points. I think flowering took much of its energy and now that it's stopped, it's resuming growth
Image

Image

D. Aliciae - It was pretty much dead for the first 2 months. It's coming back strong with tons of Capensis around the pot.
Image

D. Hamiltoni - This little guy has doubled in size after I sprinkled close to dead ants from the Sarracenia pitchers
Image

D. Capensis Alba and regular seedlings - Giveaway from Victoria and it's my "coral reef" pot
Image

D. Capensis and red - the white background was a mistake since you can't really see the dew, oh well
Image

H. Heterodoxa - Very first new pitcher
Image

P. Tina - the new pink is really pretty
Image

P. Pirouette - It's really amazing how pings change color in winter, love the pink though
Image

P. Laueana - the leafs are finally cleaner now that it's moved inside
Image

N. Veitchii x Platychila - the biggest pitcher grew when this plant was outside
Image

N. Caesarion - it came with the smaller pitcher, the other pitchers developed inside the terrarium and on a windowsill.
Image

N. Mulensis x Lowii - this plant was really cute because the tendril buried itself inside the sphagnum when it was outdoors and it developed this beautiful pitcher
Image
Image

N. Talangensis - it never developed a pitcher outdoors, and now that it's inside a terrarium 4 new growth point has developed ^_^
Image
Image

N. Maxima x Spectabilis - This is my strongest growing smaller size nepenthes

Wow. What amazing big plants you have. Mine are all tiny. I like how you use white for back drop. But liked you said the dews are hidden. Try using darker backdrop next timem fattytuna has some nice photo in black backdrop.
