Hi everyone,

There's healthy new growth on the S/purpurea venosa I repotted on February 10. But the other pitchers died and dried out, so should the scissors touch the peat surface when snip the dead ones? Is there a safer, better way to prune them off the plant? Thanks.

I've found pruning purpureas a bit difficult since they grow so densely. The leaves are fairly flexible so you don't have to worry too much about digging in there, but still be careful. Just clip off the dead pitcher as close to the rhizome as you can without damaging any of the healthy leaves. Be warned it's likely to leak water and insect carcasses everywhere when you do so.
