Howdy
Today I went to Walmart in search of the gallon jugs of distilled water that they usually carry, but they were out. Sad and defeated, I slowly start to make my way out of the water section, when suddenly, I pass by a Primo water machine, and I think to myself, "hey, I wonder if this has an option for distilled or reverse osmosis water," and low and behold, it says right on the five step process info that the water is purified via reverse osmosis. So I go ahead and get five gallon jug of it, then test it with a tds meter when I get home, which comes out to about five tds. Now I'm just wondering if there's any way anything else gets added to the water that I'm not aware of, or that the tds meter doesn't pick up? I've never really heard anyone talking about getting pure water this way, so I'm kind of assuming something's up with this method. Any input?

I have a brand-new Aquatic Life RO Buddie Plus DI Four Stage Reverse Osmosis Deionization Unit 50 GPD filter system.
I hooked it up and have only produced about 36 gallons through the filter.
So far, my TDS meter is still reading 0.
I imagine the number will go up with time.
Water from my dehumidifier is running 8.
Distilled Water from the store reads 0.
City water 150ppm
Tester: HM Digital, model TDS - 4

That's probably why you haven't heard of people using it almost $3 per gallon is a bit steep but if it is all you can get then it is worth it. I just got a $70 dollar RO unit. We'll see how long the filters hold out.

Just saw this post. I've run into the problem of walmart being out of distilled water several times. Check the baby supplies section, there's almost always a good supply of gallon jugs. Different label, same price.

Hey there, avid online shopper and app user for all major stores.

Walmart is very poor at stocking their shelves but exceedingly good at keeping their stock updated online for pick ups.

You can look for distilled water on their app, and if you see it, just place a pick up order. They're bad at keeping it on the shelves but the app will tell you for sure if it's even in the store.
