Has anyone noticed some traps have more flies in them? Is it because flies attract flies?

Thank you everyone for your comments. The Pink Venus is my favorite of all the red clones I have grown so far, including Red Dragon, Royal Red (also very nice), Clayton's Red Sunset (which I didn't like too much), Red Piranha (nice also), and others. The traps of Pink Venus almost always develop an intense, deep red color even when they don't receive as much sun, and I like the contrast that often occurs between the red traps and the usually more green petioles. It also grows very neatly, prostrate or almost prostrate all year, compact and beautiful. :D

Is it true you like red cultivars the most?

Yeah that's what my pink venus is looking like as well, not so numerous of course but what I've noticed with all my trap's petioles is that they are getting somewhat wrinkly. The picture that you have is a good example, a product of dormancy perhaps?

No, that's not true. I tend to prefer any Venus Flytrap that grows well and looks good and may have some special characteristic(s), or not. Some of them really impress me, and some don't impress me as much, that's all.

Each and every one of them is a precious little monster, in my view! :D

Steve, do you have any Bohemian Garnets? Mine is beautiful. Its going through a transition where a lot of the leaves are starting to die. So it will be a little bit until I put pics up. But I am really happy about the color of my BG.

maybe Jason will send you one,if you dont have one ;)
