Here's some of my collection. I live just west of Sydney at the foot of the Blue Mountains. Also some Sundews and Pitchers.

Enjoy.

Nice looking plants Daveman! Welcome to the forum.

Out of curiosity, how long have you had those rocks as top dressing on your VFTs? I've always heard that rocks can leach minerals into the soil and eventually poison your plants. Have you ever had this experience? I'd imagine that it might take a very long time, especially if you always water from the bottom and it rarely rains on your plants.

Welcome Daveman! That's a great looking set up you've got there! I love the pirate skeleton hiding out amongst the plants of death :D

Thanks everybody.

Matt, The rocks have been there for about 5 years and are made up of a mixture of fresh water river gravel, quartz and crushed sea shells. I use the exact same mixture in a tropical fish tank I have with Australian Natives that are very tempermental to water conditions. It's never hurt the fish and as you can see the VFT's have no problem. The VFT's are exposed to the elements and get rained on quite regularly. I also water from the top with a standard watering can.

Budukai, the moss is a moss that grows in the locally here. I have no idea what it's called. The sundews are about 3 years old and spread like wild fire. I keep forgetting to cut off the flower stems and end up with them growing in amongst everything. If you look closley you can see them growing with the VFT's in some of the pics. Their like weeds. Must be perfect conditions for them i suppose.
