Hi, I'm BabyVenusFlyTrap, and I'm new, and I need a little help. If you don't know what carnivorous plant I'm growing, it's a Venus Flytrap! :D They are just seeds right now, and I can't wait until they sprout! :D Well, I just have a question. I boil tap water from my sink and then I put it in a spray bottle and I spray it on my Venus Flytrap, I'm wondering if it's a good idea to boil THIS type of tap water. Something about the water: when I looked at the water, I saw some oily stuff. Well, that's all for now! Bye! :)

Hello and welcome BabyVenusFlyTrap!

Boiling water does NOT remove impurities. You should plan on purchasing distilled water and using that to water your plants. You can also collect rain water and use it as well. Good luck with the seeds!

Places like Giant Food Store sells distilled water for 99 cents per gallon jug.

Welcome and good luck with your seeds :)

As others have mentioned (I'm just reinforcing the idea :) ) boiled water is not only not any better than unboiled tap water, but it could be worse (more concentrated in dissolved solids because some of the pure water has evaporated from it through boiling).

So don't use tap water, boiled or not.
