Do you care if I allow my boyfriend to take a photo for me? He's the one with the cool camera gear. They will be my plants, but I only have a Kodak EasyShare C913 (point and click)

I appreciate you asking. I think that this is fine. I'll confer with the "photo committee" and make sure that they think so too. I mean, we don't want people taking photos of plants that aren't theirs or, worse yet, submitting photos that they've stolen from somewhere. But if you're just asking a friend or a boyfriend to use their camera or snap the shot that you lay out, I think that's OK. I suppose it would be best if you just asked him how to use the camera and took the shot yourself (your own creative work).

Of course, the problem is that we can't confirm whether it was you that took the photo or someone else took it for you, so we're working on trust here :)

Of course. I would do that, but he won't let me touch his camera. I think I would just tell him what plant to take the picture of and put it exactly where I want it, and tell him which vantage point I wanted taken. If that's not okay with the committee, then I'll just post the resulting picture in the photo section.

Yous can always give your prize to whoever below you if you don't want it.

All of the admins agreed that we shouldn't participate in the competition. But if I were to enter a photo, I think it would be this one I just took the other day.

Not saying they would, but if they do participate, and win, the accusations could always be made, I feel it is the smarter move.

Besides, if they want "free" plants, they can go raid the store :P
