hi, i am looking for a new and different type of plant to add to me collection of carnivorous plants, i have flytraps, two types of sarracenia, nepenthes sanguinea and a drosera intermedia, but i was looking for something that is just totally different, fun, odd looking, and bright. i want something that is just totally spectacular i guess. the only problem is that im not sure what to get, do yall have any suggestions on what kinda plant that is really bright, colorful odd looking or different that is also at a reasonable price?

bladderworts are fun and cheaply priched but they are quite small, there are some carnivorus bromeliads such as Brocchinia Roducta, also heliamphora are quite fun and odd looking but they can be expensive.

I guarantee that you can get bladderworts with leafs bigger than your hand;)

Oh cool, you can? which species is that? I need to get one.

The epiphytic ones like U.nelumbifolia or reniformis. But these need to be given "real" highland conditions. Tricky to grow.

But a species easier to get, with leaves up to 6-7 inches and very easy to grow is U.calycifida. It has got beautiful, red-veined leaves

Another in the same section as U.calycifida is U. longifolia. It's usually a simple weed to grow, has beautiful, large flowers and large leaves (one of mine on an east-facing windowsill has a leaf over 12").

You may also want to add a cephalotus to your collection.
Can be easy to grow if a few rules are followed like vft's..
Although some have reported for them to randomly die..
