Quick question about this little guy. I've seen a pretty big fly and a small spider crawling around on it, but they did not get stuck. Is this normal behavior?

Generally, only smaller insects (gnats, fruitflies, etc.) will get stuck. This also depends on the amount of the dew produces on the leaves. Some species produce more/thicker dew that can catch larger insects. I wish there was a chart of some kind, but there isn't.

Is yours producing enough dew? The leaves should glisten quite a bit and if you touch them with your finger, it should feel pretty sticky.

If there's no or little dew, it may be because you just bought it and it needs to settle in before it can create new dew/leaves. Give it time.

There isn't a ton of dew on the leaves. I just put my finger on there and there was a definite "stick", but I got it a couple weeks ago. With all things though time will probably change that.

Thanks guys.
