Hey
Im asking all the Australian growers (melbourne especially) what they do when winter comes along, and so too dormancy. The average temperature in winter is around 14C through june-august, 59F if anyone wants to know. This i assume is too hot for dormancy, and the fridge method sounds risky, so yeah, just wana know what you guys do for dormancy.

Your plants will do fine outside - I live in the Adelaide Hills where we get regular frosts during Winter. A sheet of plastic or glass over your plants at night should prevent leaf burn due to frost.

A word of caution though - don't let your plants get too wet during dormancy or they could rot. If you grow your plants in a saucer or tray it's good practice to let the water in the tray dry out and give just enough water for the pot to absorb. Aim to keep the potting medium damp, not wet. This may mean that you'll have to provide some protection from the almost constant Melbourne drizzle during Winter.
