It is the 5th anniversary of our Holiday Extravaganza, and I think that this year’s prizes are fitting for such an auspicious occasion. But before I get to the prizes, let’s talk about the theme. This contest is all about the winter holidays and the winter season in general. Here are some general ideas:

Anything having to do with Winter or Winter Holidays is fair game. If you need some ideas, check out our previous four contests.

The prizes for this year’s extravaganza is going to be pretty spectacular. Let’s start off with prizes from @andynorth who will be contributing 4 prizes!

1. Pack of 5 Drosera regia seeds
2. Pack of Sarracenia OP seeds
3. 4 inch pot worth of 1 year old Sarrs seedlings. Between 10 and 12
4. Drosera Intermedia, flowering size. Enough for about a 4 to 6 inch pot

Next up, @Panman will be contributing 2 prizes

1. Drosera binata dichotoma
2. Pinguicula 'Pirouette'

And last, but certainly not least, @Matt and Leah from The Flytrap Store will be contributing a {drumroll please} Sarracenia alabamensis! As many of you are aware, S. alabamensis is on the endangered species list and can only be sold across state lines by very few sellers in the United States. Although he couldn’t sell it, Matt is able to offer it as a prize to the winner of the contest. You know you want a chance at this!

Here are the rules:

1. You can submit 1 photograph for this contest.
2. It must be your own picture.
3. Pictures shared in previous contests are not eligible.
4. Minimally edited photos only. No effects, or filters. Cropping is okay.
5. The winner will be the entry with the highest number of thumbs up (likes) votes.
6. Only votes from members with at least 5 posts will count.
7. This contest is open internationally, although there will be an alternate prizes for international winners.

NOTE: The 3 month eligibility restriction is lifted for this contest!

Because we have so many prizes, the awarding of the prizes will work this way:

• The top 6 winners will be announced on 1/1
• The first place winner will have 24 hours to message me with their choice for their prize
• After 24 hours, or after the prize has been chosen, the second place winner will have 24 hours to pick their prize
• This will continue until the top 5 winners have chosen their prizes
• After the top 6 prizes are chosen, I will randomly select a name from the remaining contestants and announce the winner
• The winner of the final prize will then need to message me

You are asking, "What happens if the winner doesn't message you within 24 hours?" They will still be a winner and can message me at any time to claim a prize but it is possible that the prize they wanted will be claimed by someone lower on the list. The timing restriction is to allow us to get all of the prizes claimed quickly.

In case of a tie, the winner will be determined by the first entry to reach that number of votes. If that cannot be determined, we will have a run-off.

Tried and true!

Well I had a bunch of ideas, but my bigger plants are sleeping (hopefully) and don’t have their picture faces on.

So these are actually a set (couldn’t fit them all) of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 3D prints that I spent like 26 hours on painting for my mom. There’s Misfit Toys, but yeah I got what I could lol.
Sorry I couldn’t get the bigger badder stuff in.
