Sarracenia purpurea and drosera rotundifolia :D. I believe the benefits are pretty clear. Drosera is living hydroponically in the pitcher water, and they both benefit from the drosera attraction of insects

Springtails are great! Did they show up on their own?

Edit: About a year or so go I decided to do some test tube propagation. I have some sundews that took and also 2 f my vft's, Big tomato and B-52.
So, in test tube propagation the water provides the needed growth medium for plants and in turn the plants provide oxygen to the water. Pic of test tube strike was from January of this year, the other is from today. Link to when I received clarification: post450410.html#mygroup-6

So beyond LFSM maybe the only thing that would probably work for this is…wait for it…yup that darned avocado tree :D

It seems to need a decent amount of water each day, so it’s good for my nepenthes (in a different pot of course) next to it because I’m always looking to raise the humidity even just a bit.

Also although it’s not vining yet, my hope is that it will be able to use the tree when it gets bigger to climb. Since this is only my second Nepenthes and the first one is still tiny, I’m not 100% sure if it’s just one vine that’s supposed to grow straight upwards or if there’s little side vines that also need support.

I can give my avocado tree more time to mature as the Nepenthes is not yet at its vining stage yet. So we’ll see how my plan works out as they both mature. :D

So unfortunately I don’t have a zoomed out picture that shows them side by side (the nepenthes is on the right), but I think gnats or something laid eggs in the soil because I have a full blown explosion of little fliers around the avocado tree, and I’ve temporarily removed it so I can treat it and don’t want it close to my other plants just in case. Hopefully that’s understandable.

And
Drosera is living hydroponically in the pitcher water
<——were you trying to do this or was it a neato accident? Wouldn’t mind trying something like that!

That is way too cool. Whether on accident or purposely done it is neat to see nature acting in this way. Gives me an idea for an experiment.

This my tracyii that is currently going dormant along with his vft friend. I placed some live moss on the top of the tracyii pot. Out of that moss came some surprises of which I already separated 2 other red species of vft and this typical. The moss is providing a vibrant place to grow along with humidity while the tracyii and flytrap eat the bugs that might otherwise invade the moss.
Edit: After viewing some older photos, it was actually 3 Bohemian Giant vft's
Spagmoss is a great example of symbiosis, but the instructions say sphagnum is not allowed (bc everyone already grows that). I'll extend the deadline, I'm sure you have something else :)

uhmmm... I feel like this is not *quite* an example of symbiosis... (does the avocado tree benefit from being next to a nepenthes?)

Definitely accidentally. Probably seeds dropped in. I just happened to notice it. I have tons of rotundifolia and they produce thousands of seeds.
They weren't even purposely planted together in my purpurea pot :D

Technically water is not a living thing, but I'll count it for the aerobic microorganisms living in the water. :D
