I recently notice ants in my Dewey Pine pot. Should I be concerned about them build a nest which could disturb the roots?

Additionally, I have had a hard time settling on a good spot to keep it. I move it recently to try a new spot. I found the new growth slumped over a little earlier. I watered it to see if it was getting a bit dry. Its odd because usually I see the old growth slump over or droop when it's getting a little dry - but not the new growth. Today the old growth was fine but the new was slumped over slightly. Does this indicate anything aside from moisture level.

I usually water ever four days. I'm a bit worried because it hasn't even been 2 whole days since I last watered it, but I feel I had no choice but to water once seeing it slumped. It is still a juvenile so hopefully the extra watering will not harm it. I water it thoroughly whenever I water.

Any advice is appreciated.

@jdbcfoshee, I really don't know much about Drosophyllum but I'd guess that the ants wouldn't move the soil enough to cause root disturbance that would be detrimental to your plant.

As far as your question about watering, I'm entirely speculating because I only recently acquired my very first D. lusitanicum seedling a couple of months ago. I've let it get a little dry a couple of times and it did look stressed (less dew and less turgid leaves). When I notice it like that, I water it. It would be hard to say if the "slumping" you refer to is something to worry about or not without photos. I'd probably err on the side of keeping it well hydrated, particularly if the plant is small.

Again, I am not at all experienced with growing Drosophyllum, so keep that in mind if you decide to incorporate my advice into your care regimen!!
