Of the 20 plus plants I have 5hat flowered this year I was hoping the bees would pollinate a few of them. The only one I got seeds from is S.Oreophila that I pollinated myself since it was in my grow tent and Iam not sure how viable they are. I figured I would let nature do the est of them for me but no luck. Tons of bees around so not sure what the issue was. I was really hoping for some seeds to contribute to the seed bank. I guess next season I will bag them up and cross pollinate them so I know I will get some seeds. If I ever get to it I have lots of various drosera seeds to sort through for the seed bank.

I have found that if the flowers are inside of cages, even with holes as big as chicken wire, the plants don't get pollinated very often. I watched a carpenter bee that got inside my chicken wire try to get out, and he couldn't navigate getting through the holes. I had the same thing happen with my vegetables.

And in doing a little checking I see they hate dark colors. So although they were in pools and not covered, the walls had black fences on top to keep squirrels out. I am not sure yet if they will stay in the greenhouse next season or not. Summers here only see 90's on ocassion but I do not want to kill them off either.
