I got that same rosea from elaineo. Based on the shape, I think it was a rosea hybrid that was selfed. Roseas are like purpureas, short and squat.

Strangely, all the purpurea seeds I started from msprouse are producing tall/narrow pitchers. I thought I was crowding them too densely, or maybe they got oversprayed with insecticide. I don't think msprouse would mistake a rosea hybrid for rosea, but i sent him a message to ask what he thinks. Will update if he responds.

If I am fortunate enough to get seeds from it next season I will gladly send some to the seed bank. Maybe cross it with a rosea just for kicks.

My latest addition. sellers pic. I have been eyeing this one for a while. It was priced out of my range for some time but it seems the seller is lowering all of his prices since fall is fast approaching.

Regarding, the rosea, I did get a reply from the seller:
I did not keep any of those seeds, but I have had about 10 out of 50 montana, Transylvania cty. x self show cross pollination. I figure one or 2 of the 5 receptors picked up some stray pollen.
so the rosea are likely cross pollinated. hope that helps :)

That is always the risk of getting seeds from other growers. You never know what their pollen "hygiene" is. I bag the flowers when they first appear and the bag only comes off for pollination and once the petals fall off.

My latest additions: Sarracenia (S. X gilpini) X (S. X Purpurea Montana #5 X Dupont Bog) Gramley and a Filiformis. The Sarracenia is a creation by Tyler Gramley, VP of NASC.

Edit: All potted up and ready for the grow tent for a couple of weeks before transferring out with all the others.

It has been a while since I have posted any new Drosera.
Left to right:
1.Drosera Regia (The King): MikeB
2.Drosera Capensis Bains Kloof: Shadowtski
3.Drosera Regia root cuttings: Shadowtski

Edit: After @Panman educated me, the D.Regia are lying flat instead of sticking up. I was following my own intuition as I usually will place my stem cuttings straight in and they have always seemed to take.

For your regia root cuttings, I think you want to cover them with the moss, not have them sticking out. The one on the left looks like a root tip and that should definitely not be sticking out.

With Drosera root cuttings, I lay them horizontally on top of a pot filled with a peat/perlite mix and I gently press them into the media so they're flush with the surface. I put the live sphagnum around the root, but not covering it.
Then I bag or dome them.
Depending on temperature, time of year, and other random conditions, you should see buds in one to two months.
