Recently, my flytrap has been putting out big traps (for a typical) and they will open for the first time, then a few days later they close with nothing in them. This happens a few times, then while it's closed something slices it. What's happening?!?! Also please ignore the sunburn and the petiole with no trap; those are stories for another day.

You are going to have to reduce the size and/or number of photos. I have fast internet and have been waiting for any to appear for 5 minutes now.

I’m not sure about anyone else but those links are a 404 error page for me.

Are you sure there was nothing in them? It seems like they're catching something which then chews its way out.

I vote with LazyDaisy. I tried feeding a Sphinx moth larva to a flytrap last year, this was the result. Btw, if you think you're having a moth caterpillar problem, plant some petunias and keep them next to your CPs. Petunias are a favorite food for many of those critters. They'll eat the flowers and ignore anything else in the vicinity.
Same goes for aphids and pansies.
