So basically I’m a beginner in carnivorous plants and getting a sarracenia purpurea and is it ok to leave it in my front porch all year long and can I do the same with my Venus fly trap.( also I’m zone 7a or 7b)

Yes, you can grow a Sarracenia Purpurea and a VFT outside all year round as long as they receive enough light(at least 4 hours of direct sun) during the day.

Damage to the plant comes from long term freezing. Most the time here it warms up when the sun is up but i have had 3days freezes with out much effect. Snow protects plants from wind =p.

I have a mix of 8a and 7b on my street according to the map. Only plant i have had issues with outside is he FL Red sundews like 50% make it and they get smaller. Flytraps and sarrs have never taken damage for me.
