My pot of VFTs is totally infested with black globular springtails, which is not a bad thing. Springtails mostly eat fungus spores and rotting plant parts so they clean the pot from bad things. They also don’t seem to enrich the substrate and they don’t hurt the plants at all. They hide in the sphagnum when the sun hits the pot and when the shade comes they come out and eat nectar. They also probably can sense that I am there watching them because in a matter of seconds most of them go back in the soil. Only the VFTs have these even though all of my plants are in the same sphagnum moss.
