Is it just me or do pitchers seem to be smaller whenever the tendrils don’t land on moss or substrate (aerial pitchers)?

Yeah, many growers confirm that the pitchers get bigger if they sit on something instead of hanging.

That hasn’t been my observation at all. Perhaps you are noticing the difference between lower and upper pitchers, where by the time the plant is mature enough to vine, it is unlikely to lay on something as it would when low to the ground ?
