I have noticed that when Sarracenias go dormant they produce undeveloped leaves that look like spiky scales to protect the growing point. When they start to wake up the scales open and flowers and new leaves develop. This happens right now with my S.purpurea. What do you think? Flower or leaves will grow first?

Update: It’s probably a flower. Should I let it grow? If I let it I will take photos every day so it looks like a time lapse. I will also find for sure if it is a S.purpurea or S.rosea.
