This month, in the US, we celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, so I thought that would make a good theme for our November contest. This month, we want to see plants that you are thankful to have that you would not have if it weren’t for the generosity of someone else. I am looking for plants that you didn’t buy or trade for. Any sort of gifts, prizes, or plants that you grew from seed that you did not buy. Plants grown from seed bank seeds are acceptable, but Secret Santa doesn’t count as that was more like a trade than a gift. So show us the plant that means the most to you.

Here are the rules:
1. You can share only pictures you took personally.
2. You can submit only 1 photo for this contest.
3. Pictures shared in previous contests are not eligible.
4. Minimally edited photos only. No effects, or filters. Cropping is okay.
5. The winner will be the entry with the highest number of thumbs up (likes) votes.
6. Only votes from members with at least 5 posts will count.
7. This contest is open internationally, although there will be an alternate prize for international winners.

And what is the prize this month? In keeping with the theme of thankfulness, @Matt and Leah from The Flytrap Store are giving a $50 gift certificate! Isn't that awesome? From Matt:
Leah and I are very thankful for all of the support from the carnivorous plant community, and specifically the FlytrapCare forum users, that we've received over the 14 years the website and store have been up and running!
Thank you so much to Matt and Leah for hosting this forum and providing these amazing prizes every month!

So grab your camera (or phone) and a turkey drumstick and show us those beauties you are thankful for.

I am thankful for these drosera that I received from evenwind’s giveaway earlier this year. My first sundews. It was much more than I was expecting.

I’m thankful for these D. scorpioides received as gemmae last winter from the seed bank. These were the bait that finally reeled me in to participate in the forum! I had been a lurker for months but never joined. ChefDean posted these available to new members and that was the push that I needed.
Thank you to the seed bank donors and ChefDean for keeping track of it all!

My Sarracenia 'Drew McLain' x 'King Cobra' that I got in one of Hollyhock's fabulous giveaways. I love the color it has gotten this late in the season.

D. graomogolensis. My mom loves this plant, but we couldn't find any for sale that weren't online. She didn't want to risk shipping a plant. A kindly person from the CP society I was part of gave me one as a gift months later.

It was sickly at first due to poor soil, but it seems to be doing better now.

N. Robcantleyi. I was gifted this mass of Robcantleyi's back in August by my mom. I am so very excited for them to grow up!
