I want to prepare potting media for VFT. I have read that a 1:1 ratio of peat moss and silica sand is appropriate and that perlite could be added. What would be the correct peat moss/sand/perlite ratio?

And would I ise same mixture to sprout VFT seeds?

Thank for any help.

Personally I'd go a little heavier on the peat than 1:1:1 since both sand and perlite serve similar purposes - drainage and aeration. For seeds (albeit usually drosera and not vft) I generally go pure peat or 2+:1 peat/sand for the best soil contact, and I never use perlite for germination for the same reason. Alternatively, you could just add a thin layer of pure peat or peat/sand along the surface and have some perlite mixed in further down. Others may do things differently though, this is just what's worked best for me.
