Ok, anyone have an idea what's going on here? I have a seedling plant that appears to have a tiny plant growing with it.
Is this small plant a separate seedling or a basal shoot?
If it is an individual plant, I am thinking of potting it on its own to give it more light and care, so it does not get crowded out by the bigger one.
Photos aren't all that good because I'm using a different device to photograph the plant(s?)

basal. let it get a bit larger and then decide:

• leave it alone
• cut it off and try to root it

if the main plant was larger, a third option would be to cut the vine of the main plant and try to root it, leaving the basal with the root system of the original plant.

Yes, that is a basal. I would let it grow a bit larger and then chop and root it.

Wow. I didn't expect such a small plant to make a basal shoot! I will let it grow a little then try to root it separately... if that takes, maybe someone will want it.

Yeah, they can basal at a very small size!

Is it just my bad memory, or do you want me to give you free plants, in a somewhat joking way?

I may try to sell or trade it away, I’m not in any rush and I don’t have enough extras to consider a giveaway. My father (who won’t stop living with me) wouldn’t let me anyway, money lover that he is.

Yup, that's me! But, I don't really want you to give it them to me. I just say it in a fun way. That's a really nice hybrid too! You could get some good money off it - so if I were also in your position, I would sell it too.

It is a really nice plant. I tend to be partial to species since I want to start from the beginning and make my own hybrids (patience stinks but I'm sure it'll pay off someday). Even so, this little guy is really... growing on me.

All too true. I have seen multiple Candy Dreams hybrids and all of them are really nice… wonder if my little guy can compete…
