It seems like a newly described species N. pudica produces underground pitchers to catch ants. The leaves supporting these pitchers are reduced and achlorophyllous.

One of the plants BCP sold of this species. So looks like it does translate to cultivation! Probably appreciates a very wide pot and a loose media mix, too.

I've recently heard of the underground Nep and I'm so excited to hear that the pitchers grow in the ground! Hopefully one day it can be grown in cultivation, I would like to grow one. Does anyone know if its a highland or lowland?
