I'm pretty sure this is star moss, but thought I'd post a couple of pictures for confirmation. Found it while wandering some back roads. Interesting patches of it. Saw a few other odd plants on our short adventure. :D Probably the oddest critter was the one traveling with me! :lol:

Looks like the star moss I saw back in my time in Hawaii...

That is actually haircap moss. When I was a kid, I used to find large patches of this stuff in the woods near my parents' house.

With star moss, the leaves are shorter, wider, and more triangular.
