Hello, I rescued a ‘VFT’ from lowes in one of the little plastic boxes. I’ve had one before and loved it and all of the ones they had looked so sad, the was the only one that looked viable. It is a lot healthier already, but I’ve only had it for about 3 weeks. Well 2 nights ago the stem/leaf on one seemed to open up and it now looks hooded. This happened after I introduced a bag over it for humidity.

To me, it looks like a pale/yellow pitcher plant, but I have never had one or even seen one in person.

Luckily, while I was really wanting a VFT (and will be getting a healthy one very soon), I was also wanting a pitcher plant!
I’m curious now if the tiny ones will be pitcher plants also. They are growing much faster and new stems are popping up constantly, the first one popped up maybe a week ago. I didn’t even know it was in there!

The plant in the second photo appears to be a flytrap, based on the developing trap.

And you might want to note that your pitcher plant is clearly not getting enough light.

From the way it looks or from the picture? I keep it on my windowsill now so it gets indirect light til about 1 pm the direct light til about 6- but I definitely want to change it if I needs anything! I really don’t know much about taking care of a pitcher plant yet

It is going to have pretty much the same requirements as a flytrap. The lighting needs to be 4 to 6 hours of direct, unobstructed sunlight. They cannot be grown on a sunny windowsill. Plus, pitcher plants get tall and are not easy to grow with artificial lights.

Preferably grown in full sun outside, and they will need a dormancy period.

Okay thank you so much! Luckily I believe they’re supposed to do good outside in the climate I am in!

Looks like there's a Sarracenia in there as well as a small flytrap. Both appreciate bright bright light and typical outdoor conditions in most parts of the US. If I had to guess, the Sarracenia looks like the hybrid 'Bug Bat' to me.

Back in the day when Lowe's cubes looked like this:

you could find S. rubra pretty regularly. I'm pretty sure the distributor is the same as back then, and I've never seen them sell any hybrids or other species besides purpurea or rubra unless things have changed since then, so that's going to be my guess until it gets enough light to develop properly.
