Good day to everyone. On April 18, I bought a G16 type flycatcher between 4-5 years old. The flower stalk had just been cut and was having trouble waking up. I did the soil change the day I bought it and put it in its new place. I opened a thread about this before. If I have to summarize briefly, the traps get dark before they open. I water it with pure water from the bottom. I know the general maintenance rules as I have had flycatchers before. For the first 3 weeks, he stood under a 3200 lm LED light for 16 hours. I thought the darkening might be due to light. Because the leaves were starting to turn red. And I put it under another lamp with a power of 1500 lm. Likewise, it stays under the light for 16 hours. Although the reddening of the leaves has improved, the traps still continue to darken. If I talk about irrigation, I keep the soil constantly moist. Neither too wet nor too dry. So I don't think the problem is due to irrigation. Also, my new flycatcher, which I bought on May 17, has recovered very quickly even after about a week. Moreover, the flower stalk had just been cut. Apart from all this, even though I change the soil and cut the roots because they are too long, they are very eager to grow and their traps turn red quickly. I mean, they're both under the same conditions. The water and soil I use are exactly the same. Despite this, the G16 still continues to obscure its traps. I live in Turkey. It is very difficult to find special species of flycatchers in this country. That's why the G16 is pretty important to me. It's been a long post. Sorry for my bad english. Thanks in advance to anyone trying to help. I wish you all a good day.

I do not cut roots when I transplant a Flytrap. I coil them around the bottom of the flowerpot.
I put the Flytrap in a bag or dome for 2 to 4 weeks after I transplant it.
Those are my two thoughts or suggestions.
Maybe a Flytrap expert will have a better suggestion.
Good growing,
Mike
