I'd like to thank plantnerdjules for her latest donation.
She has donated a bunch of D. lanata (Dimbulah, QLD) seeds. These seeds are in the Petiolaris complex, so are a little more difficult to grow, but can be very rewarding.
She shared enough that I was able to conservatively make five packs of about 25 to 30 each. She also reported that she had a very good germination rate from a pinch. Neat stuff!
Before you question the name, it's legit. Dimbulah is an actual town, name after the Walsh River. The word Dimbulah is derived from the indigenous Australian peoples word for "long water". Dimbulah, long water, river. There you go.
History lesson over.
Plantnerdjules, thank you for your continued generosity.
These seeds are available to donors only for the next 48 hours, and every eligible member after that.

Took him a while. I think he finally remembered to take his meds.

Nope. Somebody told mainstream media that parentheses are the next thing that will ward off the 'Rona, so I'm hoarding mine for now.

Is it lanata or lunata? I think D. lunata grows in Queensland but I'm not sure if D. lanata does. Cool donation either way!

I thinks it's lanata, because lanata is a woolly sundew, while lunata is a tuberous sundew. (Would be kinda hard to mix them up.)

Lanata also grows in Queensland, and that is what they're labeled as.
The donor reported germination from these, maybe she'll clear up the confusion with a pic. Lanata and lunata are very different in appearance, so it will be an easy ID.

Definitely lanata- seed shape on these two species is also quite different!

Not the end all to the debate, but lunata seeds as per ICPS.

vs lanata in the seed bank.

Lunata are much bigger and football shaped vs the much smaller and rounder lanata.

Apologies for slow response. I was internet-deprived while travelling the past 3 weeks. I believe the seeds are correctly labelled as D lanata and my new seedlings look like petiolaris complex. I got the seeds from experienced growers who would not mix up lanata and lunata, quite different plants, just the names sound similar
